European Motorcycle Tour 2026
This summer, I'm embarking on a motorcycle adventure I've been dreaming about for years: an 87-day journey across Europe on a BMW R1250GS.
The Route
The plan takes me through 15+ countries, covering roughly 12,000 kilometers over nearly three months. It's structured around "hub" regions where I'll spend time exploring, with transit days connecting them.
The Journey
May 2-6: Plymouth (Start) Landing in the UK and preparing for the adventure ahead. Ferry to Spain.
May 7-13: Portugal & Northern Spain First real riding week. The Atlantic coast, winding through Portugal and northern Spain.
May 13-17: Andalusia The south of Spain before crossing to Africa.
May 17-22: Morocco Five days exploring Morocco by motorcycle. This one feels special.
May 22-27: Barcelona Transit and regrouping before the islands.
May 27 - Jun 6: Sardinia & Corsica Ten days on the islands. Slower pace, stunning roads.
Jun 6-13: Southern Italy Down the boot, possibly including Sicily.
Jun 13 - Jul 5: The Balkans Three weeks, eight countries. Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Greece. This is the heart of the trip.
Jul 5-22: The Alps Two and a half weeks in the mountains. Switzerland, Austria, northern Italy. The riding here should be incredible.
Jul 25-28: London (End) Wrapping up in London before flying home.
